Men's AA7 triumph 4-3 in epic Grand Final!

The SUSFC men's all-age 7s won a thrilling Grand Final against Queens Park on Sunday night! Uni never trailed but weathered some ferocious Queens Park return of fire with the score finishing 4-3. Goals went to captain Pete Cowland, Ethan McLean and a double to Alex Hoser.

Congratualtions to the 7s who were the stand-out team in their division this season and thoroughly deserved the shield.

AA7s to the Grand Final!

The mighty AA7s are through to the Grand Final on 21st September with a nail biting penalty shoot out win at Jellicoe today. The AA8s fought gallantly before being eliminated in golden goal extra time.

Season Ends In Style

In a season cruelly cut short by administrative whim, neither side had much to play for. However both sides approached the match in the right spirit. The Enfield players drew their positions from a hat and the Uni boys turned on the style coming away with a 3-1 win.

Not A Bad Effort, But Not Enough

We were pretty competitive, especially in the first half, but in the end Burwood were just too good running out 4-1 winners.

An Outstanding Effort

After six matches in sixteen days - some of them pretty disappointing efforts - we turned up with the bare 11. We then discovered our opponents, 5th-placed Hurlstone, had no game yesterday and had two subs, while we were carrying injuries. With all that in mind, we could have been forgiven for giving up. But lo and behold we had one of our best games, played the entire second half with 10 men after Al went off injured and came away with the win!

Another Disappointing Loss

Yet another ref that mystified both sides. You wouldn't normally blame the ref too much when you lose - it sounds too much like sour grapes - but he did blow the whistle before they scored their third goal with no time left on the clock.

What A Miserable Game

This was a match with very little to recommend it. We were pretty woeful. They were slightly better. The ref mystified us all. I thought Will had a good game in goal. Best to just forget about the rest of it.

That's Better

What a difference a day makes. After yesterday's poor performance we rebounded with a very respectable 2-2 draw against 2nd-placed Five Dock. Coming from 0-2 down was a great effort. And these guys beat us 5-0 last time.
